Nestled in the foothills of the Sperrins, for a few nights every Halloween, Pomeroy Forest comes alive with the undead. The mysteries and horrors of the Forbidden Forest in Pomeroy were first unleashed to the general public in 2014. The planning and thought behind this idea had been in the making for some time before that, with members of the Slatequarry Association and the wider community driving the event. All the effort paid off as it was a huge success in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Last year the team decided to scale down the scares, making the forest trail family friendly and it proved to be a great success. We will continue with the family-friendly theme in 2017. As you walk the trail you’ll encounter witches and wizards, warlocks and wild things and much more, all with a story to tell or a spell to brew. So if you’re brave enough to experience the dizzying effects of the vortex tunnel or play deal or no deal with the devil, bring your little monsters, devils and witches along to the Forbidden Forest this Halloween.
Our mid-Ulster location means we are convenient to all and we are only 60 minutes from Belfast to the East and Donegal to the West with excellent car parking available on the night at the Rowan Tree Centre in Pomeroy. Enjoy The Forbidden Forest Trail, The Vortex tunnel, hotdog or burger & drink with a few tricks and treats along the way all for only £9.50 per person with family discounts also available.
